William Cosgrove Obituary

William Cosgrove, age 72, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024. He was preceded in death by his dad, Bill Cosgrove; mom, Violet Cosgrove; sister, Dianne (Cos) Cosgrove, and brother, Tom Cosgrove. He is survived by sisters, Linda Rubottom, Shellee Cosgrove and Wendy Matuszak; brothers-in-law, Ron Rubottom and Tom Matuszak, and many other family members and lifelong friends.

Bill was a multi-talented, witty man who loved all the theatrics of life. He had a creative eye, well-tuned ear, and most of all a passion for music. He was a member of many Des Moines area bands including Johnnie’s 8th Street Buzz Band, Warp 10, Full Tilt and others.

Bill loved the Lord and served enthusiastically at Cornerstone Family Church (now known as New City Church) in Des Moines for many years.

Please join us for a celebration of life Saturday, August 24, 2024 at New City Church, 3114 - 61st Street, Des Moines at 11:00 AM with finger food to follow. Then to continue the celebration we will be at Walnut Woods State Park Lodge, 3155 Walnut Woods Drive, West Des Moines at 1:00 PM with live acoustical music (bring your own guitar) and common drinks. If you like, bring your own chair and a blanket. We hope to see you at one or both of these event.
