Zachary Daly Obituary

Zachary Michael Daly, 32 of Des Moines, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, August 9th, 2024, in his home. He was born September 16th, 1991, at Des Moines General Hospital to Chrystalla Boyadjis and Michael Daly. Growing up with his brother and sister, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family in Des Moines, New Jersey, and Cyprus. As a child he was known for his mischievous pranks, his love of animals, and his wicked sense of humor. These traits followed him into adulthood as he became a loving husband and father, and remained a devoted son and brother.

Working at Chocolate Storybook as a teen and young adult helped form a strong work ethic. While completing his degree at AIB he was blessed with the birth of his two amazing children, Andreas (Andy) John Renfrow-Daly and Eliana Jo Renfrow-Daly, by former wife Kara Renfrow.

On November 12th, 2022, Zach married Jillian Stallman beginning a new chapter as a blended family. In his free time he enjoyed gaming, hanging out with friends at Vista Pub, and traveling every chance he got. He was surrounded by the love and warmth of friends and family. But he kept his feelings and worries closely guarded out of the fear of burdening those he loved.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jillian Daly, beautiful children Andy and Eliana; parents Chrystalla Boyadjis and Michael Daly; siblings Stephanie Daly and Ryan (Kara) Daly and nephews Liam and Lochlynn Daly; mother-in-law Frances Stallman, and sister-in-law Jana (Evan) Olson; as well as more friends and family than can be listed here. He would also insist that we include his beloved cats Po and Teo, Nemo and Andy, and Maverick.

He was preceded in death by his Yiayia and Pappou (Lillian and Andreas Boyadjis), Grandma and Grandpa (Betty and Owen Daly), and father-in-law Regis Stallman.

Friends may visit with the family at Iles Westover Chapel on Friday, August 16th, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 7p.m. Visitation will continue at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. by Fr. Basil Hickman, with burial to follow at Glendale Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
