Obituary

- Scott McMullin, 53, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Scott was born May 6, 1965, in Monmouth, IL, to Danny and Barbara (Wise) McMullin, graduated from Dallas Center-Grimes High School and lived in the Dallas Center/Minburn area most of his life.

Scooter as his friends and family lovingly called him moved with his family several times during his school years and attended a variety of schools in the Midwest and on the East Cost. His favorite place to live besides Iowa was Howard County Maryland where he was active in the Disciples of Christ congregation the family attended He was active in sports and the marching and concert bands playing the saxophone.

Scott and his brothers were honored to be part of award winning marching bands in Md and New Jersey.

Scott loved farming and worked for Osmundson’s, Stine Seed, and helped family and friends with their farm work. When he was growing up he loved to come to Iowa and farm with Grandpa Wise

Scott loved fishing, camping, farming, cooking, and was a NASCAR fan.

Scott is survived by his mother, Barbara (Ed) Wise Lewczak, of Minburn, IA, two brothers, Brad (Linda Neville) McMullin of Bouton, IA, and Todd McMullin of Granger, IA; uncle, Sam (Carol) Wise of Dallas Center, IA, aunts, Nancy Philben of Waukee, IA, Diane (Joe) Mccarty of Perry, IA and Denise (Tom) Ingebritsen of Ames, IA; cousins, Jon (Sage Evans) Wise of Des Moines, Allison (Brian) Matheny of Perry, IA, and Isaac Ingebritsen of Ames, IA; nephew, Thomas McMullin of Minburn,IA and niece, Madison McMullin of Wernersville, PA; his step-mother, Donna McMullin of Casper, WY, and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Garold McMullin.
