Travis John Wesley Corlis, 32, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January, 27, 2021.

Friends and family are invited to A Celebration of Travis’s Life, on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 12pm-3pm at the Veterans Reception Center, 910 Main Street, Van Meter, Iowa.

Travis was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend to every person who crossed his path.

Travis was larger than life and lit up every room he entered with his million-dollar smile and infectious laugh. He is so missed by all who knew and loved him.

A true force of nature, Travis’ drive and determination led him on a path to success that took him around the world. After graduating from high school (Lincoln ‘06), he served as a Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy, and was stationed in Japan through 2010. When he returned stateside, he brought back a taste for sushi and newfound electrician skills that he swiftly put to work in civilian life. He worked his way from HVAC technician up to sales manager, most recently holding the title of branch operations manager at Comfort Products Distributing. In 2020, he proudly completed his bachelor’s degree in business management, and had big plans for the future.

Travis was the first person to offer help to a friend or animal in need. He loved big, and had the bear hugs to match. He kept everyone on their toes with his epic personality and his playful spirit will forever be unmatched.

Travis is survived by the love of his life, Sara Jo Corlis; their children, Addisyn and Ashton; his parents, Jace and Janet Corlis; grandparents, Roger and Trudy Webb; grandmother, Roberta Corlis; siblings, Kregen (Logan) Webb and Kelli (Donny) Greenland; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, countless friends he considered family, and a menagerie of pets. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack Corlis.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made by donation to: IOWA Service Dogs
