Lee was an entrepreneur who was a true “American Picker”.Lee Clair Farquharson, 65, passed away unexpectedly due to complications from surgery, on February 8, 2021.

Lee was born October 10, 1955, in Des Moines, IA, son of Hugh and Joyce (Hilliard) Farquharson. Lee was a life-long resident of Des Moines. He graduated from Hoover High School in 1974 and received a degree in Business from the University of Iowa.

On September 15, 2001, he was married to Susan Moyland at St. John’s Lutheran Church and they made their home in Des Moines. Lee worked as an IT Systems Analyst in the medical field.

Lee enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed going to music concerts, hiking especially in Colorado, was a fantastic cook, a great friend, an antique aficionado, was passionate about politics, had a great love for animals, and loved researching his Scottish ancestry.

He also enjoyed spending time with his wife and their beloved pets.

Lee was preceded in death by his father, Hugh C. Farquharson and his mother, E. Joyce Farquharson. He is survived by his wife, Susan, his sister, Debbie Herrig, nephews Dylan and Jake (Lenexa, KS), as well as his in-laws and many cousins and friends across the country.

There will be a celebration of his life when it is safe to gather again. Donations can be made to the Animal Rescue League or to Furry Friends, West Des Moines, Iowa, in his memory.

He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.
