Linda Schultheis (née Farhat) was born on August 6th 1943, and passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on November 19, 2021. She attended Henry Ford Elementary and was a graduate of St. Benedict High School in Highland Park, MI.

Linda married Kenneth Schultheis on August 13, 1966. Together, they had two children, Stephanie Ganske (son-in-law, Charles Ganske, and grandchildren, Lauren, Maria, and Farrah) and Christian Schultheis (daughter-in-law, Megan Schultheis, and grandchildren, Evan, Aidan and Lilian).

Linda was active in the community, serving multiple terms on the Des Moines Parochial School Board. She was instrumental in creating the first St. Anthony’s School Library, and remained close friends with the women of the “Mother’s Club” throughout her life. The Schultheis house was always popular with trick-or- treaters from all over the metro on Halloween, when Linda dressed as a witch, and tended to her cauldron. Linda was a gourmet cook, specializing in Middle Eastern cuisine, and taught classes and seminars throughout Central Iowa.

Professionally, Linda worked as a residential realtor for 25 years, earning multiple awards and recognitions.

She was preceded in death by her father Henry Farhat, her mother Selma Farhat, and siblings Edward and Joan Farhat.

Linda will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and missed by all that knew her.

A visitation will be held 1 - 3 pm Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Des Moines. The funeral mass will take place at 11 am Saturday, November 27, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi with a visitation beginning on hour prior to the service.

Linda’s family would like to publicly thank her caregivers and medical providers, including the transplant team at Methodist Hospital/Unity Point, and the wonderful staff at EveryStep Kavanagh Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to UnityPoint-Iowa Methodist Transplant Center or any other Charity of the Donor’s choice.
