Marty was born on October 20, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Birton and Carolyn (Jones) Isenberger Jr. Marty graduated from North High School in 1974 and loved working with his hands.

Marty was a crane operator, and a talented builder. He was a long-time member of the Operator’s Engineer Union, Local 234. He constructed many of Des Moines’ roadways and bridges and was part of the big Hwy 5 bypass construction built in phases between 1994 and 2003. In his 20’s, he purchased a small run-down house and transformed it into beautiful home. He was the go-to guy for help with home repair and renovation.

When Marty was not working, he loved everything outdoors and working on old cars. He spent a lot of his free time boating and fishing. He restored several vehicles, including a Ford Mustang Cobra and an old Ford pickup truck. His prized possession was a ’92 Corvette.

Marty is survived by four sisters, Rita Davidson, Angela Isenberger, Traci Frasier, Jaime (John) Todd; aunt, Pamela Hall-Hearn and many nieces and nephews; He was preceded in death by his father, Birton Isenberger Jr, mother, Carolyn Hawthorne, brother, Birton Isenberger III, aunt, Marilyn McFadden, two uncles, James Hall and Brian Hall, and brother-in-law, Lawrence Livingston.
