Obituary

Mary Lucille Brobst, 81, of Woodward, passed away early Sunday, January 08, 2023, at her home.

Mary was born in Marion County Iowa on March 26, 1941, the daughter of Orval and Blanche (Kingrey) Carter. She had 7 siblings. She worked different jobs throughout her life but spent most of her working years at Casey's General Store in Woodward.

On November 6, 1965, she married Roy William Brobst in Nebraska. They started their family and for a brief time, lived in Luther, IA, for the past 47 years she made Woodward her home. They had many happy years together until his death, January 2018.

Mary loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, family was everything. She enjoyed playing cards at her kitchen table and slots at the casino. Mary was a social butterfly, she made friends everywhere she went.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Roy Brobst, her parents Orval and Blanche Carter, and fivesiblings: Lyle, Dwight, Kenny, Dale, and Mable. She is survived by her five children: Monty Brobst of Woodward, Michelle Macias of Grimes, Cristian Brobst of Grimes, Troy (Kelly) Brobst of Woodward. and Marty Brobst. Thirteen grandchildren: Brandee Brobst, Alee (Abbie) LaZella, Dustin (Megan) Brobst, Hunter Brobst, Tori Brobst, Angel Gibson, Aubrey Spevack, Cassie (Rickie) Baugh, Brandi Helmantoler, Nikki Helmantoler, Shawn (Jamie) Brobst, Heather Brobst, Ashley (Andrew) Robb, Samantha (Dustin)Hill. Thirty-five great-grandkids: Caylee, Hailey, Lillee, Kailor, Brexan, Axle, Taylinn, Khloee, Madisyn, Tyler, Jamie, Amelia, Faith, Gage, Gavin, Garrett, Tiona, Alie, Zoee. Willow, Alyra, Silas, Hayden, Hartley, Boone, Reegan, Haley, Chloe, Calvin, Analise, Klayton, Paisely, Kyser, Sawyer, and Archer. Two siblings: Raymond (Mary) Carter and Linda Sandelin.
