Obituary

Nurbanu Jeshani, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday January 22, 2023, in Urbandale, Iowa. Nurbanu was born December 3, 1929 in The Republic of Madagascar. She married Badrudin Jeshani who preceded her in death. Nurbanu is survived by her son Amir Jeshani, daughters Shamira (Azim) Jamal, Yasmin Jeshani (Steve Dreller) and Shelina (Jack) Eldridge and nine grandchildren; Aisha Jamal, Nisha Jamal, Spenser (Caroline) Jeshani, Brittney Jeshani, Joshua Eldridge, David Dreller, Braxton Jeshani, Derek Dreller, Christina Eldridge and one great granddaughter Harper Jeshani.

A private funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m., Tuesday January 24, 2023, at Iles Norwalk Chapel in Norwalk, Iowa. A Shia Ismaili Muslim burial will follow.

Nurbanu will be best remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, a fabulous and generous cook and devotion to her faith and daily prayers for her family and friends.
