Obituary

Sandra Kay Fourez, 78, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Taylor House in Des Moines, IA after a lengthy battle with Endometrial Cancer. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 11 from 10AM -12PM, followed by a brief memorial service at 12:00PM, at Urbandale United Church of Christ in Urbandale, IA. Guests are welcome to stay for a meal at the Urbandale UCC following the service.

Sandra was born September 9, 1944, in Danville, IL, to Donald and Edna (Firebaugh) Reynolds. She married James Fourez on August 25, 1962 at Number 10 Church of Christ in Potomac, IL.

Sandra was a stay at home mother until she helped her husband James with his professional farm management business. Later in life, Sandra worked as a Tax Preparer and IRS Enrolled Agent at H&R Block for 17 years, retiring in 2019. She was a member of several church congregations throughout her life, most recently at Urbandale United Christian Church.

She enjoyed reading, attending her grandchildren’s activities and giving tax advice to family and friends. She was also generous with her time and often helped others in need.

Sandra is survived by her two sons, Robert (Kelly) Fourez and Thomas (Jacqueline) Fourez; and a daughter, Kathleen (Gregory) Lanman. She had 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fourez, and parents Donald and Edna Reynolds.
