Obituary

It is with profound sadness the family of Connie Sue LaValley announces her passing. A lifelong resident of Madrid, she passed away peacefully on 3/4/23 at 76 years of age. She had resided at Eden Acres in Perry since 12/29/22.

Connie was born on 8/4/46, the fifth of nine children born to Merle & Marie (Higby) Snider in Madrid. She worked for the Woodward State Hospital as an RTW/CMA until retiring in 1986 due to a work related injury. Throughout the years, she loved fishing for Crappie, mushroom hunting, and was the mowing Queen on her John Deere 318 tractor. Halloween and Christmas were her favorite holidays. She enjoyed decorating her yard with lots of lights and inflatables for the kids to enjoy. Her family was everything to her. She loved to cook and hosted countless holiday dinners. Her fried chicken was amazing and always the number one requested by her family.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her daughters, Dawn (Mike) Hassebrock of Madrid, Twila (Gregg) Carlson of Madrid, granddaughters Ashlyn (Zakk) Sandler of Hendersonville TN, Kayli Hassebrock of Madrid, Madison Carlson and her 2 children Alvin & Adeline of Madrid, sister-in-laws Lynn Snider, Marlene Snider, Jan Snider, Jeanine Snider and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, brothers Billy Snider, Larry Snider, Jerry Snider, Danny Snider, Ronnie Snider and her sisters Marla Cowden, Betty Strait, and Carole Cowden.
Per Connie’s request, a private family service will be held at a later date.
