Obituary

Nancy Louise Renfrow passed away peacefully on March 6, 2023.

Nancy was born the daughter of Roger and Melva Shiery on January 22,1931 in Dallas Center, IA. She graduated from Dallas Center High School in 1948.

Nancy was married to the love of her life Wilbur Junior Renfrow on July 1, 1949. They had two sons Daniel Dean and David Neil. She was a lifelong resident of Dallas County living in Dallas Center until moving to Adel in 1979.

Nancy worked side by side with Wilbur on their farm along with working at Hy-Line Chicken Farms, Sears, as a seamstress and later in life at Congregate Meals in Adel. She had a love of gardening and square dancing. She spent the last 40 years playing bluegrass music with “the pickers”, and cooking Sunday dinner for the family.

Nancy is survived by her sons Daniel Dean (Martha Seibert) of Dallas Center and David Neil (Susan) of Adel. Her grandchildren Roger (Lynne) Renfrow of Perry, Nicole (Shawn Pepel) Renfrow of Earlham, Riley Renfrow of West Des Moines, Justin Merical of Perry, Matthew Merical of Van Meter. Great grandchildren Grace Merical, Peyton & Isabel Pepel, Paislee & Cason Renfrow. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilbur and sister Carol Jean Hansen of Plano, TX.

There will be a private graveside service at Brethren Cemetery in Dallas Center at a later date where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Wilbur.
