Obituary

Wanda was born, January 13, 1932, in Madrid, Iowa, to Daniel Edward Sturdivant and Lydia Ione (Saunders) Sturdivant, and passed away March 16, 2023, at the Mill Pond Nursing Home in Ankeny, Iowa.

Her early years were spent on the family farm outside of Madrid. She attended the Madrid Schools until 1942, when the family moved to a farm near Cambridge, Iowa. She graduated from the Shipley High School in 1950.

After high school Wanda worked as a bookkeeper for J.C. Penney, in Ames, Iowa. She also worked at Iowa State College, before it was a University, in Ames, Iowa. She moved to California, in 1959, where she worked in several places until being employed at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing, in accounting, from January 1966, until she retired in February 1995.

Wanda enjoyed bowling, golfing and entertaining family and friends playing her guitar, harmonica, and accordion. For a time she was President of the Loretta Lynn Fan Club and enjoyed attending Loretta's and Crystal Gayle's concerts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Ione Sturdivant; her sisters, Thelma Jean (Sturdivant) Krock, Helen Ruth (Sturdivant) Eubank; brothers-in-law, Robert Krock and Dwight Eubank; and her nephew, Craig Eubank.

Wanda is survived by her nieces Joyce Eubank (Tom) Frid, of Taylors, North Carolina, and Becky Krock (Mike) Hand, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; her nephew, Danny (Tammy) Krock, of Cambridge, Iowa, several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A visitation is set for 10:00, Monday, March 20, at the Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid, Iowa. Services will follow at 11:00. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery near Madrid, Iowa.
