Obituary

Darrell, 78, passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2023. His funeral will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 23 at Iles Norwalk Chapel. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 22 also at Iles Norwalk Chapel.

Darrell Joel Bray was born May 13, 1944 in Charles City, Iowa. He was the son of Charles and Margaret (Christensen) Bray Jr. Darrell graduated from Charles City High School in 1963.

Darrell was united in marriage with Joyce Cummings on May 17, 1971 in Charles City. They were blessed with two children, Mike and Jody. Darrell retired from J.W. Perry after working 45 years in the wholesale flower business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his early years, coffee in the afternoon, and doing a few lottery scratchers.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald and Delbert Bray.

Darrell is lovingly remembered by his wife, Joyce of Norwalk; son, Michael (Denise) Bray of Altoona; daughter, Jody (Brad) Baker of Norwalk; daughter, Debra (Donald) Nosbisch of Charles City; daughter, Talena Bray; seven grandchildren: Scott, Todd, and Jamie Nosbisch, Dana Bailey, Deanna Kaut, and Daniel Bray, Aidan Baker; five great-grandchildren: Bailey, Grady, Dylan, Nya, and Nolen Nosbisch; brother, David Bray; and sisters, Dorla Ferch and Dawn Ouellette.
