Obituary

Linda L Goodwin (Rummans), 69, of Des Moines, passed away unexpectedly on May19th, 2023. A celebration of her life will be held later this summer.

Linda was born on January 15th, 1954 to Walt and Peggy Rummans, making them ecstatic 1st time parents. She graduated from Saydel High School in 1972 and on January 2nd 1973 she married Rick Goodwin - her soulmate and husband of over 50 years. Together they traveled to, and lived in, Italy from 1973 to 1975 while Rick served in the Air Force. Following that they lived in California until 1980 before returning to Des Moines.

Lin, as she was known by all who loved her, loved life, good wine, a great laugh and above all her family. She was known for her love of a good hug and hers were the ones that warmed your soul. She was kind hearted, full of joy and always had a kind word for those around her. She overflowed with compassion and all that inner beauty transformed her into a radiant human who will be missed with a depth of sorrow that is difficult to articulate.

She is survived by her husband Rick: her sons, Richard Goodwin and Zachary Goodwin; her grandchildren, Macy, Breanna, Morgan and Tyler; her sisters, Cindy Sparks, Debra Gieske, Julie Rinehart; her brother Chuck Rummans, sister in-law Dawn White and brothers in-law Jimmy Goodwin, Mark Goodwin, Eric Tish and Joe Tish; as well as many other friends, in-laws and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Mark.
