Obituary

Diane Elizabeth Jackson died September 8, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Born February 18, 1964 in Des Moines, Iowa to John and Janis Mugge, but known as Betsy to her parents and West Des Moines friends growing up. She became Diane when she attended the University of Iowa. She joined Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. After graduating from Iowa in 1986, she moved to Seattle, where she lived for 25 years. She married and divorced, and from this union a son Kyle was born in 1996. She was a master gardener in the summer and an organizer and home decorator in the winter. She loved all sports - especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. She could beat anybody at ping pong and tennis. She had the most wonderful sense of humor.

Left to cherish her memory are mother, Janis Mugge; son, Kyle (Katherine) Jackson; Pepper, the cat of Seattle, Washington; sister, Katie (Scott) Cochran of Clear Lake, Iowa; brothers Chris Mugge of Urbandale and Andrew Mugge of West Des Moines; Aunt Jo Irwin of Twin Falls, Idaho; Nancy Thompson of Hobe Sound, Florida; nephews, Erik (Katie) Cochran, Jason (Beth) Cochran; and niece, Kristen (Tim) Gurba.

Her body has been cremated and a family memorial will take place at a later date. Per her request, no formal services will take place.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Mugge; grandparents Les and Nelle Mugge; and H.C. & Gemeve Jensen.
