Obituary

Ardyce Mills’ spirit is now with her Lord and Savior in Heaven. Ardyce was born April 29, 1931 to Stephen and Ada Robinson in Des Moines, Iowa and died April 30, 2024 after a long battle with dementia.

Ardyce graduated from Des Moines Roosevelt High School in 1949, then Graceland College in 1951. She had a special gift with children, skillfully using it as an elementary school teacher, homemaker, day care teacher, and governess.

Ardyce married Carl Millsap in 1952 with whom she had four children, Scott, Sally, Mark, and Carol. They divorced in 1976.

Ardyce married Roy Mills in 1979. She was buried next to Roy on May 3, 2024 in the Veterans Section of Des Moines Glendale Cemetery where he was interred in 1983.

Ardyce is survived by her children, Scott Millsap of Des Moines, Sally (Al) Briggs of Round Rock, TX, Mark (Lori) Millsap of Urbandale, Carol Benson of Des Moines, sister, Ada O’Dell of Colorado, six grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Shirley Powell, Beverly Zimmerman, and brother Steve Robinson.

A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, 2:00pm at the Community of Christ, Northwest Congregation, 62nd & Urbandale Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50322. Ardyce was a founding member, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir.

Memorial contributions to honor Ardyce may be made to Guthrie Grove Church Camp, Graceland University, or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
