Jason Alan Richardson was born August 24, 1977, to David (Doc) Richardson and Connie Richardson in Des Moines, IA.  He was united in marriage to Tammie (Lore) on May 6th, 2006.  He passed away after a long courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer on May 6th, 2024 with his family by his side.

At a very young age Jason was infatuated with horses.  He was an avid rider who loved the competition and competing at the top level. He spent most of his childhood training riders and horses with his family.

At the age of 15, he found and fell in love with the game of pool.  He loved competing at the highest level possible.  He won many single and team competitions at the state and national level.  This is where he met and fell in love with his wife.  Through the love of the game, he found a huge community that also became like family to him.

Pool and horses were not Jason’s only EXPENSIVE hobbies!  He loved to play poker and video games.  He also loved to go off-roading with his family and muscle cars (no wonder fast and furious where some of his favorite movies!)  He especially loved watching David play baseball and meeting all the crazy baseball players and their families!

Jason was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in January 2022.  He was only given a few months to live but through his strong will and determination; we were very grateful for an extra 2 years.

The highlight’s of his life were his wife, kids, family and friends. Jason made a huge impact on every life he touched.  He was one not to mince word.  He was the tough love kind of guy.  He didn’t always tell you what you wanted to hear, but he always told you what you needed to hear.  He was a true legend that will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

He is survived by his loving wife Tammie, daughter’s Shelbie (Lucas) and Kendra, son’s Colby and David, granddaughter Emersyn, mother Connie, brother Justin, and an extended family that loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, aunt Suzie, uncle’s Leo and Dwayne, cousin’s Mike and Donnie, and father-in-law Sonny.

The family would like to thank everyone for their donations, support and kind words during this difficult time.  We would also like to thank the nurses and doctors at Mission Cancer and Blood for taking care of him.  Our family would also like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for the exceptional care Jason received during his time at the Kavanagh Hospice house.  You made the family and his life much brighter and comfortable until his passing, for that we are very appreciative and thankful.
