Obituary

Brenda Mann, 62, of Urbandale, passed away September 23, 2024. Services will be held Monday, October 21, 2024, at Grace Lutheran Church, 5201 Urbandale Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be from 1-2pm, with a service to follow beginning at 2pm. Inurnment will be at McDivitt Grove Cemetery, Urbandale.

Brenda Kay Mann, 62, of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at home. Brenda was born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 21, 1962, to Harold and Karen (Muhlenbruch) Mann. She lived in Des Moines and Urbandale her entire life and graduated from Urbandale High School in 1980. She began her career in sales and later settled into hospitality and food service.

Brenda was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She had many hobbies including gardening, cooking and making fresh salsa. Before her mother’s death in 2022, the pair took extensive driving trips across the country. She also loved dogs and had a true friend in Marina. Marina went everywhere with her. Her passion was the “lake life” and being at the Lake of the Ozarks. She grew up on the water boating, skiing, and having fun with her family and friends at the dock of the Moorings.

Brenda was a very generous person who touched many lives with her caring, kindness and good deeds.

Those left to cherish her memory are aunts and uncles, Deloris and Gerald Mann of Waukee, IA and Mary Jo and Lewis Sloan of Ridgefield, CT. Her cousins, Dawn (Alan) Bowles of Storm Lake, IA; Chris (Allyce) Mann of Napa, CA; Lisa (Kaj) Sinclair of Johnston, IA; Herbert, John and Linda Sloan of Ridgefield, CT; sister-in law, Rita Mann of Chandler, AZ; niece, Nicole Mann of Chandler, AZ; her cousins children and grandchildren, extended family members and close friends. She will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Craig Mann.
