Obituary

Brenda Woods, 58, of Pleasant Hill passed away at home surrounded by those who loved her on December 1, 2024. She was born August 14, 1966 in Oklahoma City, OK to Larry & Marcia (Garhart) Cox. She moved around a bit due to her father being in the air force but graduated from Chadron High School in Chadron, NE. Brenda was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and so much more.

Brenda will be remembered for her creativity, love of scrapbooking, crafting and the joy she brought to those around her. She loved being on the beach and attending Royals games in Kansas City. We are sure she will be rooting for her boys in blue in games to come. She enjoyed volunteering her time, serving as President of the PTA at Stowe Elementary and President of the East High Band Boosters in the past.

She is survived by her loving husband Todd Woods; daughters Katie Woods and Sadie Woods; sister Marcia Cox; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Larry Joe Cox & Marcia (Garhart) Cox; brother Robert “Eddie” Davenport; and sister Lori (Mark) Stewart. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Services will be held at Iles Grandview Park on January, 13 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Service beginning at 11:00 AM. A Luncheon will follow to celebrate Brenda’s life with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mission Cancer + Blood here in Des Moines, IA. The family would like to thank the staff of Mission Cancer, Mercy and Hospice of the Midwest for their support and care. We would also like to thank the family and friends that helped care for Brenda in the end.
