Obituary

Patrick William George, Sr., 93, passed away January 5, 2025 in Altoona, IA. He was born January 21, 1931 in Des Moines, IA to Joseph and Katherine (Boyle) George.

Patrick was a Dowling High School graduate. On November 24, 1956 he married Patricia Louise Seymour at Churchville, IA, they made their home in Des Moines and Altoona area where they owned and operated George Transit Line.

Patrick enjoyed buying vintage trucks and working on them with his grand children. He had a great love of music and found humor in almost every part of his life. He enjoyed reading and writing poetry and was an accomplished wordsmith. He also enjoyed studying WWII history and reading non fiction literature, but time spent with his family reminiscing and laughing were the most cherished moments of all.

Patrick is survived by his children, Lynn (Kirk) Walters of Mingo, IA, Patrick W. George, Jr (Karen Alexander) of Milo, IA, and Tim (Mary Beth) George of Altoona; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; sister, Loraine Cucuiat. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian; daughter, Susan, and his wife, Patricia.

Visitation will be 10 - 11 AM Monday, January 13, 2025 at Ss. John and Paul Catholic Church, Altoona with a Funeral Mass at 11 AM and burial to follow the service at Altoona Cemetery. Luncheon to follow.
