Obituary

Suzanne (Sue) Clarice Walsh passed away unexpectedly at her home in Madrid, Iowa, on January 7, 2025. Born on March 17, 1957 in Marshalltown, IA.

Sue graduated from Woodward-Granger High School in 1975 and continued her education at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), where she trained to become a medical administrative assistant. Throughout her career, Sue worked at the Woodward Resource Center and The Home Place.

In her leisure time, Sue was an avid reader who enjoyed thrillers, mysteries, and romance novels. She also loved watching soap operas, playing bingo, and attending family get-togethers, sharing laughter and joy. Sue’s favorite pastime was being surrounded by her close friends and family.

Sue is survived by her siblings Bob (Paula) Walsh, Cindee (Rudy) Hernandez, Kris (Jim) Rolston, and Nancy (Howard) Holtkamp. She is also remembered by her aunts Betty Wagler and Shirley Langham and uncle Roger Wood as well as 9 nieces and nephews, and 13 great-nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Irene Walsh, and her beloved dog, Bear.

A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at a later date.
