Obituary

Jeanette V. Frost, 93, of Windsor Heights died on March 4, 2025. She was born October 11, 1931, to Adolph and Mary Vosika in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Jeanette graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1950 and from Iowa State University in 1954. She worked for the Iowa State Home Extension office in NW Iowa and later she worked as a Program Director for the National Dairy Council.

In 1960 she married Edward M. Frost in Ames, Iowa. They settled in Omaha, Nebraska where her three sons were born. In 1965 the family moved to Windsor Heights where she has resided ever since.

Jeanette was a devoted, loving housewife and mother who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. In the more recent years, she volunteered her time for the Blood Center of Iowa and Youth for Understanding exchange. She enjoyed birding, collecting antiques, traveling and doing jigsaw puzzles, and she missed the many animals she lived with over the decades.

Jeanette is survived by her three sons, Rev. John of Johnston, William (Allison Burow) of Grimes, and Michael (Gina) of Des Moines; her two grandchildren Alexander who is in the US Navy in Japan and Anastasia of Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Mary; her siblings Lois, Cyril, Lowell, and Richard; and her husband, Edward in 2006.

Services will be held Friday, March 14, 2025, at St. Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church, 4600 Meredith Drive, Des Moines. Visitation will be 9 - 10 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM.

Private burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Pocahontas, Iowa.
