Obituary

Francis Charles Mowery, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025. He was born November 6, 1933 to Clyde and Florence Mowery, he grew up in rural Ohio with 2 brothers, Harold and Harry.

Francis married Elizabeth Ann Wallace in 1953 and became proud parents to Jan and Chuck. He was transferred to Des Moines in 1970 as an accountant with Massey Ferguson Company.

Francis was generous with his time, volunteering with the Boy Scouts & Lions Club, he was a member of the West Des Moines United Methodist Church and was a 50 plus year member of the Shriners & Gnemeth Lodge 577 AF & AM.

One of his favorite things was driving Golf Carts at the Iowa State Fair every year.

Francis and Ann traveled the world visiting many countries & family over the years. He continued traveling with the Shrine & Lions for several years.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann; son, Chuck; granddaughter Allison Kenkel; brothers, Harold & Harry Mowery.

Left to remember him are his daughter and son in law, Jan & Ron Kenkel; daughter in law, Judy Mowery; 6 grandchildren, Amy (Laurie), Kyle (Kendra), Aaron (Ashley), Alan (Jenna), Nikki (Tommy), Lisa (BJ); eleven great grandchildren, A.J., Cole, Dylan, Jack, Gunner, Drew, Derek, Sutton, Maverick, Beckett and Greyson.

Celebration of his life will be at Copper Shores, 1500 Edgewater Drive, Pleasant Hill, Iowa on Saturday, March 22nd at 10 AM. Private interment will be in Masonic Cemetery, 1550 48th Street next to his wife, Ann.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 215 Radio Drive, Woodberry, MN 55125.
