Obituary

Stanley Richard Venard passed on to his heavenly home on Sunday, May 4, 2025. Stanley was born December 17, 1932, in Ireton, Iowa, the first-born son of Wayne “Shorty” and Pearle Venard. Stanley was raised in and around Hawarden, Iowa. He was a 1952 graduate of Hawarden High School.

Stanley married Jayne (Davis) Venard on May 28, 1953, sharing over 71 happy years together. Stanley was proud of his service in the United States Navy. He did two pacific tours on the USS Porterfield from 1954 to 1956.

Stanley began his working years with Western Electric followed by many years with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Sioux City and Des Moines, Iowa. He enjoyed many years of retirement with Jayne on their acreage in Waukee, Iowa. In retirement, Stanley enjoyed working in the spring and the fall planting and harvesting crops for Tim Broderick.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Jayne, and three children; Steven (Joyce) Venard of Adel; Mark (Pam) Venard of Waukee; and Karla Venard of Urbandale. Stanley is survived by five grandchildren; Amanda (Jeff) Cregeen of Perry, Nathan (Katy) Venard of Ogden, Rachel (Eric) Konchalski of Des Moines, Amber Venard (Steve) of Des Moines, and Kevin (Hayley) Venard of Stanardsville, VA. Stanley is survived by eleven great grandchildren; Jeremiah and Anthony Cregeen; Jason, Jayne Anne, and Levi Venard; Gina and Gage Polson; Grey and Molly Venard and Gabe and Sydney Schuster. He is also survived by sister-in-laws Barb Venard and Yvonne Hartman plus many nieces and nephews.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Lyle Venard; and two daughters, Darla Kay and Ramona Jayne Venard. A family graveside service will held at a later date.
