Obituary

Beverley Beryl Betz, 94, Ankeny, Iowa died Friday, May 9, 2025 at her home. Auntie Bev, as she was affectionately known by her nieces and nephews, was born January 30, 1931 on the family farm in Grimes, Iowa to Ernest Edward & Nellie Agnes (Otto) Betz.

Beverley graduated from Johnston High School and then earned a business degree from Capitol City Commercial College. She would spend the next 43 years in banking, finishing with Wells Fargo.

Bev lived on the family farm looking after her father and brothers. They would often bring the nephews to the farm on weekends or summers while utterly spoiling them, leaving it to their parents to deal with the aftermath. She did love to cook, her specialty being baked beans (think summer!). Bev was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Grimes, Iowa.

Survivors include nieces Denise Betz & Michelle Betz, nephews Duane (Jennifer) Betz, Daniel (Deb) Betz, Dean (Teresa) Betz, Dennis (Toni) Betz, Michael (Suphamai) Betz, & David Betz, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her is death were her parents Ernest & Nellie, brothers John Eugene Betz, Ernest Homer Betz, and Allan LeRoy Betz.

Beverly was a simple woman who worked diligently at her profession and loving her extended family. They will miss ‘Auntie Bev’.

The family would like to thank the staff and care providers at Edencrest Ankeny, the staff of Hospice of the Midwest and medical staff of Metro Geriatrics Services for the services and care they provided to Beverly.
