Obituary

Thomas Junior Cabrera, 70, of Des Moines, Iowa died Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Iowa Methodist Hospital with his family at his side. Tom was born August 30, 1954 in Mason City, Iowa to Thomas Valentino & Guadalupe (Legorretta) Cabrera.

After graduating from high school and HVAC training he went on to be a HVAC installer for over 30 years, retiring from the Baker Group. Tom always tried to stay physically fit for the rigors of his occupation.

Besides heckling his family, Tom enjoyed spending time with them in the outdoors camping and fishing. He looked forward to his time at Prairie Meadows and partaking of tacos, his favorite food group.

Survivors include wife Traci Cabrera, children Israel Cabrera, Andria Boulier, Jacki Grove, Romel Cabrera, and Jael (Joshua) Kuster, six grand children, sisters Teresa Haroutunian and Margaret Jamaica, other relatives and friends, dogs Nikki & Gidget.

Preceding him in death were his parents Tom & Lupe Cabrera, brother Salvador Cabrera, and dog Chulo.

Tom’s visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Iles Grandview Park Chapel, 3211 Hubbell Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50317. His funeral service will begin at 11:00am, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the Iles Grandview Chapel with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Des Moines to follow.
