Obituary

Christine was born on March 6, 1959, in Nebraska, the daughter of Leonard and Phyllis (Dohren) Mather. She married Ronald Poole on September 22, 2006, on Saylorville Lake, IA, and they made their home near Granger.

Christine received her CNA from DMACC, which set her on the path she loved most—medicine and helping others. She worked with at-home care physicians, the Blood Center of Central Iowa, Broadlawns Family Health Center, and Iowa Heart until her retirement.

Christine enjoyed life and laughter. Her love for family and friends brought her constant joy. She loved creating events, large and small, and always included a thoughtful gift. She found happiness in gardening, crafting all types of art—especially anything involving needlework—baking, cooking, and reading. She was always just a phone call away to listen, laugh, cry, and care for anyone who reached out. Most of all, she adored her 8 grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; her son, Tyler (Katie) Mather of Johnston, IA; four grandchildren; her mother, Phyllis; and her brother, Steve Mather, both of West Des Moines, IA. Her stepsons Ben (Stephanie) of Adel, IA, three grandchildren and Andy (Jessica) of Woodward, IA and one grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League.

A Celebration of Life will be at later date.
