Obituary

Sara Ann “Sally” Lambert passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of November 21, 2025, at the age of 97. She grew up in Newton Iowa where she met her
kindergarten sweetheart, the love of her life, Bill Lambert. They raised three daughters.

In 1950, she graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Institutional Management. Sally used her degree to work along side her husband in the family business - Lambert Ice Cream Company and Lambert Dairy.

Sally loved the outdoors and spent many years as a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed all aspects of girl scouting and, in particular, camping. She shared her love of the outdoors with her children. Sally loved to work with fabrics and yarns. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, quilting and knitting. She loved to make teddy bears and had many teddy bears in her home. Sally was an excellent cook and loved to have family together for meals. Sally was an avid reader and researched places to travel with her family. Sally found many ways to share her love of travel and learning with her family.

Though Sally loved to travel, she also worked to support her community through volunteering at the Living History Farm, PEO, First United Methodist Church, United Way and was a blood donor for many years.

After retirement, Sally and Bill traveled the world with the VOCA volunteer program. They helped instruct dairy owners in many countries in how to design milk processing plants and safely process milk.

Sally is survived by her daughters Sara Rosene (Rich) and Julie Bright (Dick), grandchildren Matthew Rosene (Letitia), Michelle Jones (Cody), Nick Bright (Tasha), Casey Bright (Maggie), Dan Bright (Leslie), Joe Bright; great grandchildren Windom, Adelyn, Mia, Tyler, Dakota, Jonny, Cole, Toby and Mila; and great great grandson Kaden. She was preceded in death by her parents Sara and Keith Hamill, husband Bill Lambert, daughter Corinne Lambert, and sister Julie Wise.
