Obituary

Ruth Deloris Jones, 93, of Grimes, IA, passed away on November 24, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

Deloris was born on February 4, 1932, in Centerville, IA, the daughter of Orth and Hazel (Adams) Peterson. She married Ray Jones on September 8, 1951.

She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Johnston.

Deloris is survived by her children, Dianne (Doug) Angstrom, Cindy (Jeff) Sheeks, Phil (Diane) Jones, and Susan (Rick) Jacobsen; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her siblings, Norma (Roger) Wells, Max (Sandy) Peterson, and Marilyn (Richard) Gorden; and her sister-in-law, Donna Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, brother, Rex, and his wife, Betty.

A private family burial will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
