Obituary

Darryl Clarence Seibert, 83, passed away on November 27, 2025, in Des Moines, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Iles Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center, Iowa. Family will greet guests at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Darryl will be interred beside his wife, Linda in Sunny Hill Cemetery following services.

Darryl was born in Des Moines, Iowa on April 28, 1942, to Clarence and Ida (Cone) Seibert. He graduated from Grimes High School with the Class of 1960. While in school he loved sports, participating in football, basketball, and track.

He went to school with a young lady named Linda Davidson. A few years after graduation they married on September 19, 1964, Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church in Grimes, Iowa. Following their marriage, they moved to Rock Island, Illinois. They returned home to Grimes in 1973, prior to purchasing their home in Waukee. His career was spent repairing office equipment throughout Central Iowa.

Darryl and Linda loved animals. Their travels took them to the San Diego Zoo numerous times. He grew up working and caring for horses, a passion that never left him.

Darryl was a man of few words, but had a great sense of humor. His quiet nature never hid his love for family.

Darryl is survived by sisters, Della (Larry) Burgus and Twila Seibert; nephews, Andrew (Patricia) Burgus and Aaron (Keegan) Burgus; many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Darryl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; sister, Patricia Callison; and a nephew, Patrick Callison.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Darryl’s name can be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waukee.
